At ActiveQuote, we don’t mind at all if our colleagues come to work looking like they’ve just rolled out of bed - in fact, we encourage them to!
Staff modelled their onesies and PJs last week as we got into the Children in Need spirit and raised more than £400 for this brilliant cause. And earlier in the month, employees also took part in a nine-a-side football tournament in aid of the annual fundraiser - and even brought back the coveted winners’ trophy!
ActiveQuote sales support manager Tracy Carwardine said: “I personally think every Friday should be onesie day! It was great; we were toasty warm and extremely comfortable. Granted, we looked a little interesting, but our team will do just about anything for charity and I’d like to say a huge thank you to all who took part.
“Children in Need is something that we get involved in every year and will continue to do so. Watching the BBC Children in Need programme on Friday night demonstrated what great work can be achieved with our donations, so I know that the £400+ we have raised during November to date will be used to help a child in need in the UK in the very near future.
“This in itself makes me happy and I’m grateful to all colleagues who donated, as well as those who donned their onesies for this amazing cause.”
The football tournament was organised by Cardiff City House of Sports, a community and grassroots sports organisation affiliated with Cardiff City Football Club. BBC Children in Need took place last Friday, with stars including Jodie Whittaker, Rylan and Matt Baker helping to raise almost £48m to help children, families and charities in the UK.
Every month, we fundraise for a chosen charity or help to raise awareness of issues including mental health in the workplace and environmental concerns, with breast cancer, prostate cancer, The Wallich and 2 Wish Upon a Star just some of the organisations our staff have chosen to support in 2019.
