Each month we shine the spotlight on one of the members of our team who make ActiveQuote the great place it is to be! This month, we say hello to protection consultant Terry Burt.
What did you want to do when you were younger?
As a child I really wanted to be a chef, but I went on to study business at Coventry University, so that didn’t happen!
What was your first job?
My first job was at AXA, working in the adviser support unit in the pensions department. While I was there I learned that I was never going to be any good at admin!
What’s the worst or the most unusual job you’ve ever had?
I once spent eight hours a day picking recyclables out of rubbish on a conveyor with my bare hands.
What have you learned working at ActiveQuote?
Since working here I’ve learned to balance my finances. I’ve also become a more confident individual and learned how to care thoroughly for the client’s needs. I have also become skilled at selling the odd insurance policy or two!
What are your plans for the future?
I’d love to buy a few houses and retire to and live in Cape Verde.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
I love food, going to the gym and watching TV. I also aim for five holidays a year! The best holiday I’ve ever been on was to Cape Verde last December; it was 10 days of pure bliss.
If I didn’t work at ActiveQuote I’d…
… probably be dreaming of having the life that working for the company has given me. I’m extremely grateful!
