ActiveQuote - Corporate Charity Golf Day

On Wednesday 2nd August 2023 ActiveQuote held its 2nd Annual Corporate Charity Golf Day at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport. A day that allowed us to join forces with other businesses and raise funds for the events nominated charities, FareShare, Age Cymru and Mind.

The day started at 9.30am with our ActiveQuote staff welcoming guests into the Julia Suite at the golf club house, which had been decorated with our charity and sponsor banners. After registration, our guests were greeted with tea/coffee and a bacon roll. After a little net-working we made our way to collect our golf buggies, where in convoy we made our way down to the golf range where Jeremy Dale was waiting to entertain us. Jeremy is an international golf trick master who amazed us all with his impressive golf skills. Lasting around 40 minutes, this was a great way to start the day and an opportunity for our golfers to pick up a few tips.

Armed with professional advice from Jeremy, each team set off to their first tee in a bid to put in a great round of golf that would be worthy of the winner’s title.

The weather was not ideal but help and support our charities provide to those who need it does not stop because of the weather, therefore we were not going to let a very grey sky and rain stop us either.

With team photos taken on tee one and throughout the day, we were able to capture the day perfectly. The sun can even be seen in some of the pictures, and with everyone pretty much drenched from the rain, it came at the perfect time and allowed all players to dry out just before finishing their round. The full video can be seen on our Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn platforms. Unfortunately, it does not include video footage of our Partnerships Manager Kim’s tee shot, which is a real shame as apparently it was epic!

After finishing their round of golf and freshening up, each team reconvened in the Julia suite where food was served. Rob Saunders said a few words, followed by our Customer Experience Manager Tracy Carwardine, who spoke a little about the nominated charities and thank those present for their support and generosity. This was followed by announcing the raffle winners and prize giving for the days winners and losers.

All in all, the event was a huge success and we managed to raise just over £3.000, which will be shared equally between our charities.

As you can imagine, a golf event takes a lot to plan, organise and execute, therefore we would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who helped us make it the success it was.

Our event Sponsors

Platinum - PureCyber, Bupa, Iress

Silver – Vitality, OpenDialog

With the support from our event sponsors, we were able to deliver a great event where just over £3,000 was raised for charity. The support and contribution was very much appreciated and played a huge part in the success of the day.

To the Celtic Manor Resort and staff for looking after us and our guests throughout the day.

To Jeremy Dale for sharing with us his incredible golf skills, entertaining stories and for taking on the role of MC for the event itself.

To Freedom for their generous donation and Shepherds Friendly, The Exeter, Am-Trust, Hydro Protect, MSM and Vesopa for entering a team.

Lastly, we would like to thank our golf event committee team, who without the event would not have been possible. Hugh Currell (Head of Partnerships), Kim Powell (Partnerships Manager), Ben Jones (Senior Product Manager), Tracy Carwardine (Customer Experience Manager) and Rob Saunders. And with such great feedback already received, they are already working on next year’s event, so watch this space.
