Welsh comparison website and insurance broker ActiveQuote does the double at Wales’ 2016 Fast Growth 50 Awards
Comparison website and insurance broker ActiveQuote is celebrating after winning two awards at the prestigious Fast Growth 50 Awards on Friday October 21st.
The Cardiff-based health and protection insurance comparison website and broker, won Fastest Growing Firm in Professional and Financial Services, as well as being recognised for delivering sustainable growth, achieving Fast Growth 50 rankings in 2014, 2015 & 2016.
For seventeen years, the Fast Growth 50 has been identifying the fastest growing firms in Wales, and is firmly established as one of the most sought after awards that entrepreneurs across Wales aspire to achieve. Being recognised as one of the fifty fastest growing firms in Wales, out of a business population of 230,000, is an achievement that should be widely recognised and is an important part of the Welsh Business landscape – recognising the otherwise unsung heros in SMEs who account for the majority of employment.
CEO and founder Dr. Richard Theo said ‘To be recognised as the fastest growing professional and financial services firm in Wales is a new high for us. Moments like this justify all the hard work and effort my team and I put in. The sustainable growth award demonstrates that we are not a flash-in-the-pan and recognises the hard work our managers and directors put in every year to find new opportunities and new ways to extend and grow the business. It shows that our business is strong and our growth is on track’. He went on to add ‘We are immensely proud of our Welsh roots, and we remain committed to growing our successful business in Wales. We look forward to continuing to appear in the Fastgrowth 50 again next year and beyond’.
As well as the FastGrowth 50, ActiveQuote joined the 2016 Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 this year recognising ActiveQuote as one of Britain’s fastest-growing technology firms. And this year ActiveQuote also won a Queens Award for Enterprise – Innovation, for its use of technology to innovate and simplify the health and income protection insurance markets.
Dr Theo’s enthusiasm and passion has driven him to establish and grow a string of successful technology-based start-up companies, the latest of which is Wealthify a new online service that makes investing effortless, enabling savers to enjoy the returns of financial markets. Wealthify is currently crowdfunding via the Seedrs platform, allowing anyone to become a shareholder in this exciting new Welsh company which aims to transform the Saving and Investing market in the UK in the coming years. ActiveQuote has also launched a new subsidiary this year, Fortify Insurance – a new insurance brand for Wales which has already launched its first product and aims to launch three more insurance products this year.
