PHC (The Permanent Health Company) has announced that from January 1st 2012, AXA PPP healthcare will underwrite all its medical and dental insurance products.
Currently, PHC’s products are underwritten by Great Lakes Reinsurance (UK) plc and are reinsured by Munich Reinsurance Company.
But the change means that all policies renewed after the start of 2012 will be underwritten by AXA PPP healthcare and all renewing policies will be offered terms, via their existing broker or intermediary, underwritten by AXA PPP healthcare.
Despite being underwritten by AXA PPP, all contact for quotations, policy administration and claims assessment will continue to be with PHC.
The health insurance market is steadily shrinking, as smaller insurers are being taken over by larger firms. Earlier this year, Health-on-Line was also bought by AXA PPP. This shrinking market may soon lead to less competition between providers on premium.
With less competition between health insurers, it is more important than ever for customers to use a comparison website like ActiveQuote. Not only will we help you understand the changing market, but we will also make sure you get the best price possible.
Compare health insurance quotes online now to make sure you find a private medical insurance policy to suit your needs and budget.
