We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Front End Developer to join our Software Development team in Cardiff Bay. ActiveQuote provides Life, Health and Income Protection insurance advice to customers via a wide range of insurers, including Aviva, AXA, Bupa, Vitality, AIG, L&G to name but a few.

We operate some of the UK's leading price comparison sites for Health Insurance, Income Protection and Life Insurance with significant innovations and USPs through our world-leading software. We power some of the UK's leading household comparison sites including MoneySuperMarket, GoCompare, and uSwitch.


Job Scope

As an ActiveQuote Junior Front End Developer, you will work within the Software Development team designing, creating and maintaining our websites and applications.
You will develop high quality, reliable websites and applications using industry best practice and standards, using technologies such as Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS/SASS, jQuery, & GULP.
You will have the options to work remotely and from the office.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop new websites and applications and adding new features to existing .NET applications (.NET CORE, MVC, VB)
  • Adding new features to existing .NET applications
  • Diagnose and fix front end bugs
  • Produce clear and concise documentation when required
  • Ensure code quality is met through participating in code reviews and testing frameworks
  • Demonstrate an interest in coding standards and champion best practice

Skills & Education



  • Experience building web-based applications (personal projects or commercial works)
  • Using Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS/SASS, jQuery & GULP
  • Understand the principles of responsive web design
  • Highly organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrates an aptitude for problem solving
  • Passionate and hard working
  • Engaging and works well with others



  • Experience using GULP
  • Experience using TypeScript
  • Experience or knowledge of continuous integration methods
  • Experience working with Back End Developers and Testers
  • Experience working within the SCRUM framework
  • Skilled in using Photoshop / Illustrator
  • Ability to develop and test your work across multiple browsers
  • Knowledge of Microsoft development environment (Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server)
  • Degree in a related field
