We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Support Engineer to join our team in Cardiff Bay. ActiveQuote provides Life, Health and Income Protection insurance advice to customers via a wide range of insurers, including Aviva, AXA, Bupa, Vitality, AIG, L&G to name but a few.

We power some of the UK's leading household comparison sites including MoneySuperMarket, GoCompare, Money.co.uk and uSwitch.
Job Scope
As an ActiveQuote IT Support Engineer, you will form part of the ActiveQuote DevOps function and be a key
member of the IT and infrastructure team. The role will act as the initial point of contact for our colleagues when they encounter any IT related issues. A friendly disposition and fluent communications skills are key.
In addition to helping support both the internal and client-facing IT infrastructure and equipment, you will be the human link between the wider business and technology team, diagnosing and owning queries through to resolution. There will be plenty of opportunity to develop your skills and experience with wider IT and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities and Duties
- To provide first line helpdesk and end user support to staff, clients and visitors
- Assist in the care and maintenance of computing, network and office equipment
- Issue management - Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with software and hardware
- Prioritise, log and track multiple issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits
- Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams
- Prepare accurate and timely reports identifying issue trends with recommendations
- To install and configure software applications
- Be the link between the business teams and technology departments

Skills & Education
Essential
- Proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer or similar role
- Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
- Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues
- Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
- Microsoft Identity and Access Management products, Active Directory
- Exchange / Office 365
- Cyber security, Antivirus & Firewalls
- Troubleshooting, Incident, Change and Asset Management frameworks (ITIL, TOGAF)
- Strong prioritisation and organisation skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once
- Qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or accreditations in relevant field
Desirable
- Experience within a similar role
- Certifications in office support, IT, systems support – or other relevant certifications
