We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst / Project Manager to join our Development team in Cardiff Bay. ActiveQuote provides Life, Health and Income Protection insurance advice to customers via a wide range of insurers, including Aviva, AXA, Bupa, Vitality, AIG, L&G to name but a few.
We operate some of the UK's leading price comparison sites for Health Insurance, Income Protection and Life Insurance with significant innovations and USPs through our world-leading software. We power some of the UK's leading household comparison sites including MoneySuperMarket, GoCompare, Money.co.uk and uSwitch.
Job Scope
Working as a Business Analyst & Project Manager within the IT Department, you will manage the delivery of our IT Development Roadmap. You will provide BA support on projects and act as a liaison between the business and IT, gathering requirements, mapping processes and implementing change.
The role involves requirements analysis, modelling and documenting, as well as scenario based functional testing, making sure that the software being delivered meets the customers & stakeholder’s expectations.
Experience in a range of project and business analysis methodologies would be expected, as would a high degree of professionalism and attention to detail.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Analyse and outline challenges, opportunities and solutions for the business
- Owning the Development Roadmap, collaborating with the Senior Management Team to ensuring it aligns with the business’ strategy
- Gathering business requirements for projects, creating compelling user experiences, detailed user stories, process maps and non-functional requirements
- Responsible for delivering concurrent projects to a high standard and on time
- Championing best practices in the software development lifecycle, governance and business analysis activities

Skills & Education
Essential
- Extensive Business Analysis and IT experience
- Experience as a lead and/or mentor to Business Analysts
- Solid experience in stakeholder and resource management
- Excellent listening and verbal communication
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A BA/PA qualification or professional training & understanding of a project lifecycle
- Good written and presentation skills with an ability to present requirements and processes in a clear, logical manner
- An enthusiasm for improving processes with a keen interest in new technology
- Strong organisational skills and experience in prioritising work to meet deadlines
Desirable
- Process mapping experience
- Working within an agile environment and Scrum master certification
- ITIL Foundation / Practitioner
- Experience in IT Security
- Azure/AWS knowledge
