Simplyhealth has appointed David Cobley as its new underwriting and pricing director. Mr Cobley joins Simplyhealth from the Lloyds Banking Group, where he was employed as a risk director for its international financial services division.
A qualified actuary, Mr Cobley will work to bring the pricing and underwriting teams closer together, and develop the pricing in the private medical insurance business. The key focus will be then to drive sustainable growth for Simplyhealth in the future.
Although Mr Cobley had been living in Heidelberg in Germany for the past two years, he was drawn to Simplyhealth’s customer-centric operations and value-led business practices. "I have been impressed by the work that has been done over recent years to bring the business together and the development of the new Simplyhealth brand," Mr Cobley said.
His employment comes after Natalie Kitcher was named as the company’s first dedicated social media manager earlier in the month.
