Several
private medical cover providers have won prizes at this year's
Health Insurance Awards.
Held by Health Insurance & Protection Magazine, the awards recognise excellence throughout the industry.
In the provider category, PruHealth enjoyed a successful night claiming three awards, including Best Individual Private
Medical Insurance Provider.
Aviva Health UK also won three awards at the event, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, London.
Its gongs included the coveted Health Insurance Company of the Year award and the Best Group Private
Medical Insurance prize.
Other winners included
Bupa Health & Wellbeing UK in the Most Innovative New Product category for Bupa Select, while Westfield Health picked up the Best Healthcare Cash Plan Provider award.
"Once again the night was testament to the resilience of the industry, which has weathered 12 months of economic uncertainty in remarkably good shape," commented the magazine.
Adrian Fawcett, chief executive of General Healthcare Group (GHG), which owns BMI Healthcare, recently claimed that more people will take out private medical cover in the near future as the economy improves and budget cuts begin to impact the NHS.
