Private healthcare provider Nuffield Health has been awarded the National Health Service Litigation Authority’s (NHSLA) Level Three Award for risk management.
Nuffield Health is now the only private hospital group to hold both two and level three, the highest attainable level. The award is designed to reduce the number of preventable incidents that can happen in a hospital environment.
The assessment was carried out over two days at multiple hospital sites, with hospitals and staff assessed on 50 key areas. These included medical training, hygiene standards, patient information, patient consent, patient record keeping and maintenance of medical equipment.
Patricia Lee, Hospital Chief Executive of Nuffield Health, said: “This award reflects the emphasis that Nuffield Hospitals place on offering high quality clinical care.”
“We continually strive to reduce risk and improve patient safety, and the NHSLA accreditation of our UK hospitals shows that we are among the best."
"Our patients can be reassured that they are being treated in some of the safest and cleanest hospitals in the country.”
This news comes after reports showed that 10 per cent of safety incidents in the Welsh NHS lead to significant harm to patients.
