AXA PPP healthcare upgrade heart and cancer cover for patients with PMI

Published on 09/01/2012

AXA PPP healthcare has removed all limits on its cover for licensed cancer drugs with immediate effect.

AXA PPP is removing any monetary limits that may apply to outpatient tests and consultations for cancer treatment.

Both cancer and heart surgery patients will also be covered for follow-up tests and consultations to monitor their progress and recovery.

The insurer will provide a benefit for experimental cancer drug treatment undertaken as part of a clinical ethical trial.

In addition, AXA PPP will make a donation of £100 per night for care provided in a registered hospice or for hospice care at home, with no limits.

AXA PPP will also pay £150 towards wigs and up to £5,000 towards external prostheses.

The change will apply to its standard policies for individuals and SMEs. The move follows Aviva’s announcement last year that it was removing all limits on cancer cover.
