AXA PPP healthcare has posted 33 new videos on its website to help its members better understand the process of undergoing private medical treatment.
The videos were filmed at BMI The Clementine Churchill Hospital in London, BMI The Meriden Hospital in Coventry, the London Clinic on Harley Street and the Spire Bushey Hospital in Watford.
With further input from consultants, private hospital staff, a general practitioner and AXA PPP customers, the videos focus on four medical conditions: cataract surgery, gall bladder removal, knee joint replacement and CyberKnife cancer treatment.
Senior marketing manager Simon Miller said 'This is a small but important step - painting a picture of the 'patient journey' in the private healthcare sector, which, for members who have yet to undergo hospital treatment or who are new to private healthcare, can be a daunting prospect.”
'With healthcare cover, it's more a question of when rather than if members are going to have to make a claim. For the unfortunate truth is, the older we get, the greater the likelihood something's going to give.
'So, by bringing the private patient experience alive in these videos, members will be reassured that, if they should come to need to be admitted to hospital, they will be looked after by an experienced consultant, in privacy and comfort, at a time that suits them.'
